jEncrypt

jEncrypt is a command line file encryption archiver designed to help you encrypt files and directories into a single file archive.

To use key strenghts above 128 bits on Windows XP/7 with Oracle's Javasoftware, Oracle provides unlimited strength policy files. The foldershell\UnlockJCE which comes with jEncrypt contains an installerwhich makes backups of the existing policy files and installs the JCEunlimited strength policy files automatically to the correct folders.

jEncrypt encrypts data with the AES-CTR mode which was first recommended by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in 2001 (NIST SP 800-38A). AES-CTR mode only provides confidentiality; to ensure an encrypted message is not accidentally modified, or maliciously tampered, requires an authenticated mode which jEncrypt currently does not provide.

If you do not supply a destination folder to the decrypt option jEncrypt will use the current folder as the destination folder.
